William Crutcher “Bill” Brown, Jr. professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Morning Star Baptist Church, Munfordville, Kentucky. Bill was born in Hart County on July 23, 1950 to William Crutcher Brown, Sr. and Mable Radford Brown.
On Wednesday, January 7, 2015, God opened His arms at 2:40 p.m. and received Bill at The Medical Center in Bowling Green while surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was an avid University of Louisville Basketball fan. He was also a skilled craftsman building and making furniture and other items for his family and friends as well as being a poet touching many through his words. He was very athletic, being a sports enthusiast and participating in various leagues. Bill also admired and collected various guns.
Upon graduating from Hart County High School in 1969, Bill began his career at Houchens in Munfordville. During his twenty years of service there, he met numerous people and became lifelong friends with many.
On December 28, 1969 Bill united in Holy Matrimony to Sharon Lee Tribble. To this union two daughters were born, Shannon Renee’ Brown Brewer and Tania Chantale Brown Olson. Bill was especially proud and loved dearly his four grandsons and a granddaughter to which he was extremely close to them. Family was a very important part of Bills life and he often stressed the importance.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving parents William C. Brown, Sr., Mable Brown Coats and John H. Coats, Sr.
Bill leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 45 years, Sharon Brown, Munfordville; his children Shannon Brown Brewer(Stewart), Tania Brown Olson; Bowling Green. Five grandchildren, Courtland and Dominique Brewer, Bowling Green; Trevor, Jr., Tomas and Timothy Olson, Bowling Green.
Four brothers, Mitchell Brown (Melinda), Cave City; Laddie Brown (Jenaya), Louisville; John Coats, Jr. (Michelle); David Lawlis (Heather), special brothers John Freeman (Jennifer), Munfordville. Two sisters, Alice E. Arvie (James), Horse Cave; Cindy Coats Williams (Tim), Henderson, Kentucky.
Aunts, Ellaree Thomas, Newark, NJ; Mildred Wheatley, Elizabethtown; Hattie Lockheart, Lousiville. Uncle, Roosevelt Thomas, Newark, NJ. Son-in-law, Trevor Olson, Sr.; brother-in-laws, Leonard Tribble and Roy Arvie; sister-in-laws Beverly Perry and Julie Doss. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends also survive.
Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His life was an inspiration and a blessing to his family and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted in the hands of Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, Kentucky.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Owens Chapel Baptist Church, Cave City, Kentucky and home-going celebration services on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Stanford Dixon and Dr. E. A. Duke will officiate.
