William "Bill" Leonard Ferriss, 87 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at his home in Louisville, Kentucky. Bill was born on October 21, 1935, in Bonnieville, Kentucky. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
Bill was a member of South East Christian Church and an analyst at Ft. Knox, where he made impactful contributions to the organization. Throughout his professional life, he exhibited remarkable expertise and dedication in his field.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bill was a US Army Veteran, proudly dedicating himself to serving his country. service exemplified courage, resilience, and patriotism.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Hart Ferriss and Hazel Irene Wheeler Ferriss; one sister, Geneva Breeding; his faviorite Grandpa, Leonard Wheeler; one step-son, Brent Helson.
Bill's impact extended beyond his career and military service; he cherished his role as a family man. He leaves behind a cherished network of loved ones who will forever remember him as a pillar of strength and support. Bill is survived by three daughters: Cindy Rice, Tonya Ferriss of Louisville and Shannon Smith of Shelbyville. His grandchildren, Kalee Smith and Nakaya Smith; great-grandchildren, Ava Stratdner and Lilah Theodoravich; two sisters: Judith Dudek and Linda Thompson, both of Elizabethtown.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM CT on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CT on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery in Bonnieville.
