Virginia Ann Pence, 89, of Bonnieville passed away Thursday, March 17th, 2022, at her home.
She was born July 27th, 1932 to the late Maxie Finley and Gertrude Finley Sanders. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Pence, and a son-in-law, George Piper. Although not born a Pence, she often joked she spent more of her life as a Pence than not, and loved them all dearly.
She was a retired cafeteria worker at Bonnieville Elementary School, member of Campground United Methodist Church, and a 70 year member of Bonnieville Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children; Allen Pence (Nancy) of Elizabethtown, Theresa Hodges (Ruel) of Glendale, and Kathy Piper of Sonora, six grandchildren; Jody Hodges (Kenetha), Samantha Vertrees (Jason), Kristen Hodges, Bo Piper (Brandi), Jason Hodges (Chelsea), and Charla Estes (Luke), ten great-grandchildren; Austin, Hannah, Gavin, Brayden, and Kamden Hodges, Cole Vertrees, Kinze and Griffin Piper, Clara Hodges, and Ronin Estes; one great-great grandchild Leo Hodges, and a step-grandson; Michael Mayes (Rhonda) and their children Sarah and Johnathan; special neighbors, the Watkins family, and a host of wonderful caretakers; Gale, Shirley, and Marianne.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with Bro. Bill Rounsaville officiating. Burial follows in Memory Park Cemetery in Bonnieville. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. and continues at 8 a.m. Tuesday until time for the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy make take the form of contributions to the Crusade for Children or Campground Cemetery Fund
