Virgil Stanley Murphy

Virgil Stanley Murphy, age 77, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave, KY. He was formerly employed by International Harvester, was in law enforcement for 42 years, former member of Hart Co. Rescue Squad, Munfordville Fire Department and Civil Defense. He was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was the son of the late George Dewey Murphy and the late Minnie Maxey Gaddie Murphy. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Marie Allen Murphy; two daughters: Shirley C. O'Neal, Munfordville, KY, Lisa Cash, Monticello, KY; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Sunday, January 23, 2011. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Sunday, January 23, 2011, Bro. Danny Sallee officiating. Interment will be at Murphy Family Cemetery, Munfordville, KY.
