Sylvia Elizabeth Fingerle Osar

Sylvia Elizabeth Fingerle Osar, age 84, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Medical Center at Caverna in Horse Cave, KY. She attended Our Lady of Caves Church where she was an Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Ladies Auxillary, She was a past member of Hart County Homemakers, Moonlight Promenaders Square Dancers and a clogging group as well as a retired LPN. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved gardening and cooking.

The Pompton Lakes, NJ native was the daughter of the late Philip Fingerle and the late Myrtle Jones Fingerle and wife of the late Harold James Osar whom she was married to for over 59 years. She attended Butler High School and received her certificate of Practical Nursing at Morris Hills Regional High School.

She is survived by six daughters, Virginia  Ann Moore and husband Jim, Sussex, NJ, Ellyn Marie DeCasanova and husband Jose, Indiana, Sylvia Elizabeth Kircher and husband Wayne, Pattison, TX, Mary Elaine Young and husband John, Perry, GA, Phylis Clare Murphy and husband Gary, Munfordvillle, KY, Cathleen Szabrat and husband Sinclair, Washington, DC; three sons, Harold James Osar, Jr., NJ, Evan Matthew Osar and wife Jenice, Chicago, IL, Vincent Paul Osar, USA; one sister, Louise Worman, Deposit, NY; 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Edward Fingerle.

The family will receive friends  4:00 pm - 8:00 pm CT Wednesday, December 21, 2016 and 9:00 am - 10:30 am CT Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am CT Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Our Lady of the Caves Catholic Church Saint Bernadette Parrish Center in Horse Cave, KY. Interment will be at St.  Benedict Cemetery, Wax, KY. A prayer service will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home.
