Steve Wilson, a beloved husband, father, and truck driver, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 13, 1965, in Nichols, SC, Steve led a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and compassion, he was a jokester who was the life of the party and kept everyone laughing. He loved music and is a 1984 graduate of Green Sea Floyds High School where he was lead drummer in the marching band.
Steve cherished his role as a family man. He was a devoted husband to Anita Rowlett Wilson for 28 years, and a loving father to five children: Torrance Porcha, Munfordville, KY, Scott Neal (Mahaley), Munfordville, KY, Diandra McCallom, Conway, SC, Raisa Wilson, Green Sea, SC, and Audrey Neal (Jamie), Glasgow, KY. Steve's contagious laughter and warm smile brightened the lives of each of his sixteen grandchildren: Na'Jere, Sanaa', Breanna, KaLayah, TiRihanna, Iyanla, Chase, Broc, Blake, Braxton, DaShawn, Anazanin, DeAnjhane, Anari, Lillyahna, and Izayah.
Steve was born to the late Willie James Eady Jr. and the late Mary Lou Wilson. He shared a deep bond with his son Antorio DeVon Porcha until his untimely passing. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Eady.
Steve's unparalleled love for his family extended beyond blood ties. He held great affection for his brothers Kenneth Wilson (Diane), Tabor City, NC, Wendell Wilson (Betty), Elloree, SC, Darrell WIlson (Belinda), Loris, SC, Louis Floyd (Von), Anniston, AL as well as his sisters, Wilhelmena Samuels, Brooklyn, NY, Jennifer Wilson Brown (Armathea), Charleston, SC, Betty Tisdale (Robert), Tabor City, NC; a special niece and nephew, Marjorie Ward (Barry) and Wane Davis (Michelle); a brother-in-law Rev. W.K. Rowlett. His mother-in-law, Carrie Rowlett; his brothers from other mothers, Tony Tobin and Troy Trulock. Steve found joy in spending time with his extensive network of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A person of deep faith, Steve's spirituality served as a guiding light throughout his life. He found solace and strength in the community of Harlow's Chapel Baptist Church in Cave City, KY.
Steve's loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His infectious laughter, kind-hearted nature, and willingness to lend a helping hand endeared him to many. He approached life with an unwavering positivity that was truly inspiring.
Visitation services for Steve will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home and again on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Harlows Chapel Baptist Church. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Steve's life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, starting at 12:00 PM at Harlows Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. W.K. Rowlett and Rev. Shane Stockton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodsonville Memorial Gardens.
