Shelia Faye Barbour

Shelia Faye Barbour, age 63, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2024, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. She was a member of Harlows Chapel Baptist Church. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, and she worked in children supportive services. She worked with special needs children and was greatly involved in church outreach. She loved her church, she had a big heart and loved to help where she could. 

She was the daughter of the late Carlos and Jessie Lee Brewer Barbour. She was preceded in death by two brothers Lewis and John Barbour; one grandson, Joseph Barbour.

She is survived by her sons; Christopher Barbour of Georgia, and John Sanders of Bowling Green, KY; her grandson, John Barbour; one brother, Harry T. Barbour, Canmer, KY; two sisters, Wanda Dickerson (Rev. Robert), Louisville, KY, and Judy Schooler, Louisville, KY.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. CT on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church in Canmer, KY. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. CT on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with Rev. W.K. Rowlett and Rev. Horace Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church Cemetery.
