Sammye L. Riley

Sammye L. Riley, age 88, of Glasgow, KY (Formerly of Bowling Green) passed away at 5:27 PM CDT Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The Barren County native was born on July 31, 1919. She was the former owner and operator of Warren County Realty in Bowling Green. Ms. Riley was a member of First Baptist Church in Bowling Green. She was the daughter of the late Samuel McGuire and the late Nevada (Emberton) McGuire. She is survived by her Three Sisters: Winona Polson of Louisville, KY; Zina Warren of FL; & Edith McGown of Cave City, KY; One Brother: Larry "Pete" McGuire (JoAnn) of Munfordville, KY. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Jeannie Price, Nelda Bailey, Mae Gaylord; four brothers: Buford "Jack" McGuire; S. L. "Buck" McGuire; H. C. "Dickie" McGuire; and George McGuire. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY and J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, Bowling Green, KY. The family will receive friends at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM CDT Thursday, October 4, 2007 and from 9:00 AM to time of service Friday, October 5, 2007. Funeral service will be at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel at 1:00 PM CDT Friday, October 5, 2007 with Rev. Jim Britt officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, KY.
