Roger Dale "Butch" Avery

Roger Dale “Butch” Avery, age 74 of Kessinger passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at his home. He was a member of Wilkerson Temple Methodist Church and retired from Dart Container. He enjoyed woodworking and going to car shows, having cookouts and spending time with his family.

He is the son of the late Douglas Avery and the late Elsie Richardson Avery.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Lynn Avery.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Humphrey, Kessinger, KY; one daughter, Kristi Hayes and her husband, David, Kessinger, KY; five grandchildren, Claudia Asbury (Austin Meredith), Katrina Webb (Angel Martin), Holly Hayes, David Hayes III, and Jarrid Hayes; one great-grandchild, Bentley Meredith; two sisters, Wanda Snyder and Brenda King; one nephew Benjamin Killman. 

The Family will receive friends from 2:00- 8:00 PM CT on Monday, January 20, 2025 and again from 9:00- 11:00 AM CT on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CT on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. James Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkerson Temple Cemetery.
