Robert Mitchell Perkins was born in Hart County Kentucky to Margaret Carter Perkins and Willie Perkins who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother Jerry Perkins, grandparents Lee Perkins and Myrtle Hatcher Perkins.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife Bettye Hayes Perkins, his children Robert Allen (Tawnya), Mitchell Allen (Nakia), Len Mills and Demarco Mills (Nancy); siblings, Rev. Stanley Perkins, Kerry Stockton (Henrietta), Marie Perkins (David), Janet Tonga; step children, Louis Dansby, Troy Dansby, Andy Greene, Eric Dansby, Vickie Jackson; several grandchildren, many great grandchildren; one aunt, Alma Finney, one uncle Ray Carter (Dorothy); lots of cousins and special friends, Joyce Martin, Sondra Bradley, Connie Sharmon, Joe & Barbara Driver, Steve Thorton, Jerome Hawkins and Cecil Howard.

Robert attended Carter-Dowling Elementary School, Munfordville High and graduated from Hart County High School and attended Western Kentucky University for 2 years and joined the company of Delong Concrete where he worked for a total of 38 years. Robert was loved by all who met him, often labeled with numerous nicknames such as "Big Gates," "Big Moe," Daddy Mitch to name some. Robert retired and relocated from Midway, Kentucky, back to Hart County in 2013. He became reacquainted with his high school sweetheart and married Bettye in 2015. She was a retired nurse and the love of his life. He shared the last 7 years of his life.

They both became members of Woodsonville Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. K.T. Ford where they remained faithful until his health problems prevented him from going.

The family has chosen to honor his wishes and will be having a private ceremony.
