Rev. James Silas Barbour, age 80, of Canmer, KY, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave, KY. Rev.Barbour was a farmer, former Mason, and a member of Allen Seminary Baptist Church. He served in the Army.
He was the son of the late Willie Barbour and the late Maude "Vaughn" Barbour. He was the husband of the late Ruby Edwards Sears Barbour.
He is survived by one step son Johnny Ray Sears, of Nashville. TN; one brother: Carlos Barbour, Canmer, KY; two grandchildren: Donovan Sears & Jalen Sears; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, March 21, 2011. Visitation will be at Allen Seminary Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 with Rev. Standford Dixon and Rev. Douglas Barbour. Interment will be at Mt. Gilboa Cemetery, Canmer, KY.
