Michael Ray "Mike" Childress

Michael Ray "Mike" Childress, age 71, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Mike was a life long farmer. He was a machine operator for the Ky State Hwy Department.

He was the son of the late Elza Childress and the late Delphia Mabel Kessinger Childress.

He is preceded in death by one son, Sammy Jones; his siblings, Charles Childress, Wilma Jean Childress, Barbara Ann Day, Howard Dixon Childress, Morris Newman Childress, William Lee "Bill" Childress, Thomas Wayne Childress, Ronnie Jean Childress, and Celia Faye Johnston.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty Childress; his children, Karen Childress, Lincoln, KY, Roy Dale Childress, Cub Run, KY, Alisa Killman and her husband Paul, Wax, KY, Cheryl Elliott and her husband Wannie, Broadford, KY, Jeff Jones and his wife Kim, Munfordville, KY; grandchildren, Aaron Arnold, Bentley Blanton, Meagan Rogers, Neil Jones, Amber Miller (Chris), James Paul Killman (Bailey), Jessica Vincent (James),  Dillon Jones (Dallas), Hannah Elliott; great-grandchildren, Railey, Caitlin, Reagan, Lauren, Dorothy, Thomas, and Betty; two sisters, Helen Sanders (Jimmy) and Janice Willis (Donnie); many nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM-1:30 PM CT on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM CT on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Killman officiating. Burial will follow at Cub Run Cemetery.
