Michael McKinley Stewart (Big Mike) was born February 19,1955 to the union of Rudolph Lothery and Bessie Mae Ross in Bonnieville, Kentucky. Michael attended Manley High School in Louisville, and Post Secondary Educational Institute in Minneapolis, MN. He attended church at Lighthouse Christian Church in San Jacinto, CA.
He lived in Kentucky, Minnesota and California, where he was employed as a licensed welder and held certification for underwater welding. He worked at Honeywell Corporation and Control Data Corporation. He worked in the music industry as a sound engineer for the following artists Prince, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and Morris Day. While he resided California, he worked for Don Vac were he worked in the field of mechanics.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Mae Ross, and brother, Glen Thomas Ross (Tommy).
He leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, Tonnie Stewart, John Hill, Aloyouis Stewart, Daryl Stewart, and Donald Lee Stewart; Jumoki and sisters Wanda Baker, Earline Ford and Kim; his children Samuel Shannon; Anwar Michael Oakley; Kevin Ondray Shannon; Michael Stewart; and Benjamin Stewart; and daughters Michol Reed and Michelle Stewart and host of grandchildren and nieces, nephews, friends, and other family survive.
A short visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM CT on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. A graveside service will be held following the visitation at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Bonnieville, KY.
