Melvin Bryant

Melvin Bryant, age 87, of Bonnieville, KY passed away at 6:00 AM CST on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at his daughter's residence in Munfordville, KY. The Bonnieville native was born on September 30, 1919. He was a retired sawmill operator and a member of Concord Baptist Church. He served in the Army during World War II. His wife was the late Lena Smith Bryant. He was the son of the late Claude Bryant and the late Myrtle (Gibson) Bryant. He is survived by One Daughter: Fonda Smith of Munfordville, KY; One Son: Fairley Bryant (Kay) of Elizabethtown, KY; Three Sisters: Thelma Waldeck, Lola Bryant, & Coquise Reynolds all of Bonnieville, KY; Two Brothers: Hillard Bryant of Horse Cave, KY; Russell Bryant of Boston, KY. Eleven grandchildren, Twenty Four great-grandchildren, & Ten great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Helen Browning. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM CST Thursday, November 30, 2006 and from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM CST Friday, December 1, 2006. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 2:00 PM CST Friday, December 1, 2006 with Bro. Glenn Routt and Bro. Howard Srygler officiating. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery in Bonnieville, KY.
