Mary Lane Woodard

Mary Lane "Big Mama" Woodard, age 71, of Horse Cave, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 28,2024, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She worked as a Cook at the Caverna Memorial Hospital. She loved cooking, spending time with "B" and "Pretty" and always the life of the party. She had a favorite quote that she spoke of often "Only the strong will survive and the weak will fold".

She was born May 16,1953 to the late Jack Edward Woodard and the late Minnie Lee Coats Woodard.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Gail Woodard; two grandchildren, D'Asia Woodard and Courtney Woodard; her step-father, Johnnie Percell; five brothers, Ronnie Edward Woodard, Jerome Woodard, Santana Woodard, and Kevin Woodard, and Andre Perry.

She is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Whitney and her husband Rev. Chris Whitney, Bowling Green, KY; one son Brandon Woodard, Horse Cave, KY; four grandchildren, Christian Page, Faith Ann Woodard, Landon Woodard, and Devin Kinser; two great-grandchildren, Braelyn Page and Brexlie Page; five sisters, Marsha Woodard, Carolyn Woodard, Debra Woodard, Doris Woodard, and Patricia Jordan; five brothers, Timothy Woodard (Melissa), Edward Woodard, Ricky Woodard, Johnny Woodard, and Ditanius Woodard; one aunt, Barbara Driver (Joe); two special cousins Myron Coats and Jan Waggoner.

The family will receive friends from 4:00- 8:00 PM CT on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Friendship Baptist Church, Horse Cave, KY, and again on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM -1:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church. Homegoing services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Whitney and Rev. Hugh Heater officiating. Burial will follow at the Horse Cave Cemetery on Guthrie Street.
