Mary Alice (Cruse) Walters, 91, of Hammonsville, KY passed away at 11:57 PM CST Monday, November 5, 2007, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave, KY. The Hart County native was born on January 6, 1916. She was a homemaker, farmer, member of Three Forks Bacon Creek Baptist Church and a member of Hart County Homemakers for 40 Years.
She was the daughter of the late Elisha Cruse and the late Elizabeth "Eliza" (Crouch) Cruse.
She is survived by One Daughter: Betty Jean Childress (Luther) of Canmer, KY; One Son: John Edward Walters of Hammonsville, KY; One Sister: Mildred C. Cruse of Hammonsville, KY. She is also survived by four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Leo Walters; two daughters: Mary Katherine Walters; & Thelma Florine Watson; a sister: Myrtle Kessler, two brothers: Emitt Cruse & Joseph Leon Cruse.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST Wednesday, November 7, 2007; from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM CST Thursday, November 8, 2007 and from 9:00 AM to service time Friday, November 9, 2007. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 11:00 AM CST Friday, November 9, 2007 with Bro. Lonnie Sheets officiating. Interment will be at Hammonsville Cemetery in Hammonsville, KY.
