Marilyn “Puddin” Morlane Bradley Brents was born June 25, 1955 to the late June and Alice Bradley in Hart County. She gained her wings on Monday, July 4, 2022 while at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY.
She joined Allen Seminary Baptist Church at the age of 11 and was active in the Mass Choir until her illness. Marilyn and Robert moved to Morehead, KY in 2008 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, collecting photos with no camera, spending time with her family, shopping, sewing and talking on the phone with her sisters.
In 2003, she began battling the Diabetes disease that she fought for nearly 17 years. Within that time, Marilyn had both fingers and toes amputated. In between the times of the amputations, she was diagnosed with renal disease. Marilyn was put on dialysis and dialyzed three times a week for three hours. In the last few months, she began to struggle with dialysis and other health related issues. During all of her days of not feeling well, the pain, and dreadful days of going to dialysis; she always had a SMILE on her face. As she would always say “I Won’t Complain”.
Marilyn was united in marriage at the age of 20 to Robert Wayne Brents. Who would have thought they would still be together 46 years later? They laughed together, had many serious talks, many of nights of not agreeing on things, played games together where they would cheat each other, and even some challenging moments like here recently when Marilyn’s health started declining.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two children: Raven Ford (Kelly), and Keisha Brents both of Morehead, KY. Two grandchildren that was her world Haven & Kelbie Ford: Five siblings: Paul Cliffton Bradley of Horse Cave, KY, Linda Beachamp, Wanda Young, Kenna Mitchell and Angela Driver (Mitch) all of Glasgow, KY. Special nephew and nieces: Vince Brown (Gracie) of Glasgow, KY, Martinie Grace (Denise) of Evergreen, AL and Tammy Garnett of Louisville, KY. A host of other special nieces and nephews. Marilyn also leaves to mourn one uncle Thomas Twyman (Augustine) of Fairfax, VA; one aunt Murlene Brewer of Glasgow, KY; one sister-in-law Katherine Bradley of Horse Cave, KY. Marilyn is proceeded in death by her parents June and Alice Bradley; three siblings Stella, Tommy and Jessie Bradley.
