Joyce E. Hamilton

Joyce E. Hamilton, age 62, of Hardyville, KY, passed away at 7:40 AM CT Sunday, October 5, 2008 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The Wayne County native was born on June 10, 1946. She was a retired school teacher with the Hart County Board Of Education for 33 years and was a member of Living Word Faith Center in Greensburg, KY. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Elva (Thompson) East. She is survived by her husband; Sam Hamilton of Hardyville, KY; Two Daughters: Terri Lynn Hamilton, Nashville, TN; & Meribeth Sewell (Chase), Highland Heights, KY; One Son: Eric Hamilton (Crystal), Elizabethtown, KY; Two Brothers: Lewis East (Marie); & Kenneth East, all of Monticello, KY. She is also surived by One Grandson: Colby Garland of Elizabethtown, numerous nieces & nephews; & three special friends: Elizabeth Meadows of Glasgow, Becky Eckles of Hawesville, & Joyce Chism of Cave City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Lennie & Ruth East, & Mary Borgerding; five brothers: Timmy, Robert, Claude, Richard & Ellis East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Gideon's International. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM CT, Monday, October 6, 2008 and from 9:00 AM to time of service Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 10:00 AM CT, Tuesday, October 7, 2008, with Bro. Mark East officiating. Interment will be at Cosby Cemetery, Horse Cave, KY.
