John Harvey Carter

John Harvey Carter, age 73 of Horse Cave, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023 at his home. He was a member of Fountain Run Church of Christ and recently was attending services at the Horse Cave Church of Christ. He was a retired teacher from Owen County High School and Hart County High School where he taught drivers education, math, and science. He was a substitute teacher and Bus Coordinator for the Monroe County school system. He was a lover of antique cars, especially the Corvette. He enjoyed reading, working on small engines, and listening to WLOC broadcasts of Hart County basketball games.

He was the son of the late Harvey Enoch Carter and the late Catherine Eaton Carter.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Karon Reynolds, Horse Cave, KY; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Hatcher and her husband Mark, Munfordville, KY, Sharon Booth and her husband Ronnie of Campbellsville, KY; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM CT on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Ct on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Hatcher officiating. Honoring the wishes of Mr. Carter, cremation will follow.
