John Gary Hayes

John Gary Hayes, age 58, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at his home with his family beside him. He is the son of Elizabeth Ann Thompson Hayes and Gary Baker.

He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Donald and Betty Baker of Seattle and maternal grandparents Kenneth and Cleo Thompson of Kentucky. Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janet Morris Hayes; daughters, Courtney Rhinehart (Jason), Brittney Hayes (Matt Brown), Amber Hayes (Colton Huff); son, John Ross Hayes; sister, Stephanie Baker-Meredith (Carl Stephens); nephew/niece Matthew Meredith (Kristen), Monica Meredith, Elijah Thompson, Everleigh Brown; granddaughters, Lylith Brown and Abbigail Rhinehart.

The family will receive friends 2:00 PM -8:00 PM CT Saturday, February 19, 2022, and 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM CT Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM CT Sunday at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Sallee officiating.

Burial will be 2:00 PM ET Monday, February 21, 2022 at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Laurel County, KY where there will be military honors.
