John Paul De Fevers, age 78, of Magnolia, KY, passed away at 10:30 AM EDT on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his residence in Magnolia, KY. The Hart County native was born on February 22, 1932. He was the son of the late John H. De Fevers and the late Minnie (Broady) De Fevers.
Mr. De Fevers was a 1949 graduate of Memorial Consolidated High School, a 1951 graduate of Campbellsville College, a 1953 graduate of the University of Kentucky, & a graduate of the University of Louisville with his business degree.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was the owner & operator of American Coin & Stamp where he was a precious metals broker. His memberships include the American Numismatic Association, the National Fishing Club Association, and Canmer Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; Lotus (Fields) De Fevers, Magnolia, KY; niece: Lotus Lynn Gilmore (Jackie Arnold), Clarksville, IN; great-niece: Toni Gilbert, Clarksville, IN; great-nephew: Ernest A. Fry, Jeffersonville, IN; two great-great-nieces and one great-great-nephew; two special friends: Jamison & Joshua Harkness; Magnolia, KY.
He was preceded in death by two special friends; Collie Jaggers and Jimmie Jewell.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM CDT, Sunday, June 27, 2010 and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, Monday, June 28, 2010. Funeral service will be at Canmer Baptist Church at 10:00 AM CDT, Monday, June 28, 2010 with Rev. Jim Harkness II and Rev. Micah Spicer officiating. Interment will be in the Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer, KY.
