Joe Luther "Jay" Rice

Joe Luther "Jay" Rice, age 82, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. He was a US Army Veteran and worked for over 53 years at Grady's Veterinarian Hospital in Fineytown. He was the son of the late Joe Rice and the late Essie Dice Rice. He is also survived by his wife, Jessie Bell Hatchett Rice, Horse Cave, KY; two daughters, Anita G. Brents and the late Leonard Brents, Cave City, KY, Marguerite Rice, Horse Cave, KY; three sons, Billy J. Rice and wife Bonnie, Cincinnati, OH, Antonio "Tony" Rice, Horse Cave, KY, Rayvond Rice and wife Dolly, DeSoto , TX; three step sons, Maurice Rice and wife Joyce, Horse Cave, KY, Jardane Rice and wife Michelle, Louisville, KY, Anthony Rice, Cave City, KY; three sisters: Verda Thornton and husband Emmitt, Hattie Perry and husband Johnny, Alice Shirley and husband Ricky all of Munfordville, KY; one brother, Eugene Rice, Munfordville, KY; special friends, Letticia Townsley, Jeff Grady; very special daughter, Marsha Grady Weiss; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2013 and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Friendship Baptist Church in Horse Cave, KY with Rev. Michael Moore and Rev. Michael Rice officiating. Interment will be at Woodsonville Memorial Gardens, Munfordville, KY. Arrangements by Brooks Funeral Home.
