Joe Hewitt

Joe Hewitt, age 61, of Munfordville, KY passed away at 7:44 PM EST Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. The North Carolina native was born on November 16, 1946. He was a self-employed mechanic and was of the Baptist Faith. He was the son of the late Joseph M. Hewitt, Sr. and Maude (Jones) Hewitt and Edwin Dudley of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his wife Cindy Hewitt of Leitchfield, KY; Two Daughters: Melissa Peck of Fernandina Beach, FL; Sabrina Hewitt of Brunswick, GA; Six Sons: Roy Anderson of Jacksonville, FL; Allen Daymon of Middleburg, FL; Michael Kevin Hewitt of Houston, TX; Joseph Hewitt, III of Perry, FL; Steven Hewitt & Harry Eggemann both of Munfordville, KY; Six Sisters: Lois Hand, Thelma Hewitt, Lydia Weisbrod all of Jacksonville, Fl; Laura Crawford of Bell, FL; Margaret Davis of Jacksonville, FL; & Susan Brown of Camden, TN; Three Brothers: Calvin Hewitt of Moyock, NC; Bernard P. Jones of Dunn, N.C. & Charlie Cole of Munfordville, KY. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Chase Peck & Brandie of Fernandina, FL; Jaden Hewitt of Wisconsin; & Marcus Hewitt of Brunswick, GA. Joe was a foster parent to countless children. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2008. Graveside service will be at Dorsey Chapel Cemetery at 1:00 PM CST Tuesday, January 8, 2008 with Bro. Michael Killebrew officiating. Interment will be at Dorsey Chapel Cemetery in Munfordville, KY.
