James "Rickey" Matthews

James "Rickey" Matthews, age 74, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a US Army Veteran. He was retired from Matthews Concrete as a mold maker for concrete statuary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, and watching westerns.

He was the son of the late Chester Matthews and the late Edna Willoughby
He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Matthews; two daughters, Teresa and Lisa Matthews; one grandson, Trenton Lee Matthews.

He is survived by three daughters, Ashley Diaz and her husband Maurilio "Mo", Munfordville , KY, Rickeya Riggs and her husband Jason, Munfordville, KY, Tonya Matthews, Munfordville, KY; one son, Jamie Matthews and his wife Bobbie, Munfordville, KY; eight grandchildren, Dakota Matthews, Morgan Matthews, Austin Matthews, Kaleb Matthews, Lucas Matthews, Gabriel Diaz, Carmen Diaz, and Paityn Matthews; four great-grandchildren, Emerie Matthews, Ellis Matthews, Wallace Barfield, and Ava Matthews; one sister, Viginia Ann; five brothers, Tommy, Greg, Daniel, Joe Matthews, and Bobby Farris

The family will receive friends from 12:00- 8:00 PM CT on Friday, June 30, 2023 and again on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM CT at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Sallee officiating. Burial will follow at the Matthews Family Cemetery.
