James Lee Perkins, age 86, of Hardyville, KY passed away at 12:30 PM CST Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave, KY. The Hart County native was born on August 4, 1921. He was a retired farmer, Army Veteran during WWII and member of Allen Seminary Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Lee Perkins and the late Myrtle (Hatcher) Perkins.
He is survived by his wife Sheila (Williams) Perkins; One Son: William Perkins (Martina) stationed in Iraq; One Step-Daughter: Sue Helen Lawson of Louisville, KY; Four Sisters: Jeanetta Walker of Texas, Birdie Hamm & Susie Watkins both of New York, Ida Singleton of California; One Brother: James Allen Perkins of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by a grandson: Gabriel Perkins of Arizona; two step-grandchildren: Dayleante & Keyauntay Gardner both of Arizona; & several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Allen Seminary Baptist Church from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM CST Saturday, February 9, 2008 and from 9:00 AM to service time Sunday, February 10, 2008. Funeral service will be at the church at 1:00 PM Sunday, February 10, 2008 with Rev. William Dice and Rev. Stanford Dixon officiating. Interment will be at Perkins Family Cemetery in Hardyville, KY.
