James D. Atteberry

James D. Atteberry, age 88, of Bonnieville, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was a member of Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sitting on the front porch. 

He was the son of the late Delphus Atteberry and the late Juanitta Reynolds Atteberry. 

He is preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Atteberry.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Katherine Atteberry; his six children, Curtis Ray Atteberry, Scottie Atteberry (Chris), James Atteberry, Jr., Daisy Mae Alvey, Marilyn Tagalicod, and Marcella Peters (Kendall); two step-children, Connie Whitlow and Dianne Taylor; three sisters, Margarett Hendrickson, Laura Brooks, and Betty Pearl Breshear (Walter); one brother, Tom Atteberry (Joye); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM- 8:00 PM CT on Saturday, May 25, 2024 and again on Sunday, May 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM CT at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CT on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Bethel Miller and Bro. Jack Srygler officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery in Bonnieville.
