J. B. Ellis

J. B. Ellis, age 90, of Horse Cave, KY passed away Monday, December 4, 2006, at his residence in Horse Cave, KY. The Barren County native was born on December 14, 1915. He was a retired farmer, a mason for over 30 years, and a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. He was married to the late Vanda Ellis. He was the son of the late L. D. Ellis and the late Molly (Smiley) Ellis. He is survived by his Four Daughters: Shirley Faye Rice of Saginaw, MI; Mary & Linda Ellis both of Indianapolis, IN; Patricia Jones of Jeffersonville, IN; Six Sons: Rev. Cecil Ellis of Henderson, KY; Willie & Henry Ellis both of Louisville, KY; Robert Ellis of Detroit, MI; Earl Ellis of Indianapolis, IN; & Charles Ellis of Horse Cave, KY; He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Edna Johnson, a son: Joe B. Ellis, and a brother: R. T. Twyman. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM CST Friday, December 8, 2006 and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM CST Saturday, December 9, 2006. Funeral service will be at Bearwallow Baptist Church at 1:00 PM CST Saturday, December 9, 2006 with Rev. Thomas O. Wood and Rev. Cecil Ellis officiating. Interment will be at Bearwallow Cemetery in Horse Cave, KY.
