Harold James Osar, age 78, of Munfordville, KY, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was a former truck driver for Exxon, 3rd Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus, former clogger with Moonlight Promenadors, former member of Teamsters Local Union No. 560 and a member of Our Lady of Caves Catholic Church. He was the son of the late Harold Stephen Osar and Helen Rowe Allison of New Jersey. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Sylvia Osar of Munfordville, KY; six daughters: Virginia Ann Moore (Jim), Sussex, NJ; Ellyn Marie DeCasanova (Jose), Louisville, KY; Sylvia Elizabeth Kircher (Wayne), Pattison, TX; Mary Elaine Young (John), Perry, GA; Phylis Clare Murphy (Gary), Munfordville, KY; Cathleen Szebrat (Sinclair), Washington DC,; three sons: Harold James Osar Jr., Wantage, NJ; Evan Matthew Osar (Jenice), Chicago, IL; Vincent Paul Osar, USA; mother: Helen Rowe Allison, Sussex, NJ; step mother: Helen "Murph" Osar, Honesdale, PA; 22 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by: Father, Harold Stephen Osar and Step Father, Robert Allison. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2009 and from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, Friday, December 18, 2009. Funeral service will be 11:00 am at Our Lady of Caves Catholic Church, Friday, December 18, 2009 with Fr. Joel Rogers and Fr. Shannon Collins. Interment will be at St. Benedict Cemetery, Wax, KY. Rosary will be held 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Brooks Funeral Home with Fr. Shannon Collins.
