Eugene McDowell

Eugene McDowell, age 73, of Cub Run, KY passed away at 5:31 PM CT Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at his residence in Cub Run, KY. He was born on May 24, 1934 and was a retired factory employee with Crumax Magnetics and farmer. Mr. McDowell was a member of Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Edgar McDowell, the late Laura (Carroll) McDowell and the late Haley McDowell. He was married to Aloma (Hawkins) McDowell for 48 years who also preceded him in death. He is survived by Nine Daughters: Deborah Clack (Jim) of Leitchfield, KY; Pamela Austin (Pierce) of Cub Run, KY; Anna Tanner of Glasgow, KY; Cindy Walters (Steve) of Louisville, KY; Elizabeth Morgan (Kenneth) of Hardyville, KY; Patty Lutterman (Gary) of Glasgow, KY; Gloria Ragland (Jeff) of Munfordville, KY; Beverly Harper (Ricky) of Cave City, KY; & Jennifer Dudgeon (Michael) of Owensboro, KY; Four Sons: Leon McDowell (Ruth) of Munfordville, KY; Ed McDowell (Sheila) of Cabot, Ark; William McDowell (LeKecia) of Rowletts, KY; & Chris McDowell (Sarah) of Horse Cave, KY; Four Sisters: Ora Meredith of Cub Run, KY; Annie Sedlar of Floyd Knob, IN; Barbara Lotze of Louisville, KY; & June Rowe of Valley Station, KY; Two Brothers: Ova McDowell of Jeffersonsville, IN; & Junior McDowell of Munfordville, KY. He is also survived by 43 grandchildren & 34 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, step-mother, and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers; four sisters; and one grandson: John Michael Morgan. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM CT Friday, April 11, 2008 and from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM CT Saturday, April 12, 2008. Funeral service will be at Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church at 1:00 PM CT Saturday, April 12, 2008 with Bro. Randall Kessinger officiating. Interment will be at Cherry Springs Cemetery in Cub Run, KY.
