Elsie Evelyn Mills

Elsie Evelyn Mills was born on January 10, 1916 to Garfield and Florence Mitchell in Sulphur Well, KY. Elsie passed on Monday, May 10 at the age of 99, at home. Elsie attended public elementary school. She married Frank Mills in 1932 and remained married until his death in 1977. From this union three daughters and three sons were born. Her husband and two daughters preceded her in death.
Elsie's work experience was varied.She worked as a housewife, a domestic, a hotel cook and a large apartment manager.
She liked to read and her favorites were the Bible and Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper.
Elsie leaves to cherish her memory four children, Hortense Burgess, William T. Mills and wife Mary, Donald F. Mills and wife Delores and Jerry F. Mills and wife Sevilla. She leaves five granddaughters, Denise, Janelle, Jani, Casandra and Jayla; seven grandsons, Donald Jr., William Jr., Leonard, Samuel, Mark Kevin and Anthony. She leaves eighteen great great grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her five generations of offspring.
The family will receive friends9:00 am - 10:45 am on May 23, 2015 at Little Barren Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Little Barren Baptist Church with burial at Little Barren Baptist Cemetery.
