Dr. William Allen Beard

Dr. William Allen Beard, age 90, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Signature Health Care of Bowling Green. Dr.Beard was a retired professor from Western Kentucky University and a US Navy veteran. Dr. Beard received his Bachelor of Arts from Arkansas University in Fayettville, AR; a Masters from Harvard University in Cambridge, MS and his Doctorate from University of Kentucky. He joined Western Kentucky University in 1969. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Beard and the late Vivian Covington Beard and was the husband of the late Rosamond Beard.
He is survived by one daughter, Karen Long and husband Ricky, Bowling Green, KY; one son, Len Beard and wife Cyndy, Uniontown, OH; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Bob Beard.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 pm CT, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at The Presbyterian Church, 1003 State Street, Bowling Green, KY with the Rev. Matthew Covington officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Main Street, Munfordville, KY.
