Daymond "Woodroe" Logsdon, age 84, of Cub Run, KY passed away Monday, September 4, 2006, at his residence in Cub Run, KY. The Hart County native was born May 29, 1922. He was a retired maintenance engineer from Mammoth Cave National Park; a farmer and carpenter. Woodroe was a member of Center Point Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for several years. He served in the Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He was the son of the late Pat Logsdon and the late Cappie (McCoy) Logsdon. He is survived by his wife Nannie Belle (Taylor) Logsdon of Cub Run, KY; Two Daughters: Mary Frances Smith and her husband Charles of Radcliff, KY; Gloria Jane Schumacher and her husband H. Edward of Easley, S.C.; One Son: Kenneth Logsdon and his wife Judy of Cub Run, KY; Three Sisters: Mayme Skaggs and her husband Don of Cub Run, KY; Louise Gonterman and Patty Thompson and her husband Leon all of Munfordville, KY; Three Brothers: Roy Logsdon and his wife Deloris of Cub Run, KY; John C. Logsdon and his wife Wilma of Fern Creek, KY; Curley Bill Logsdon and his wife Janice of Magnolia, KY; Seven grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: James & Wash Logsdon; a sister: Nellie Lewis; a grandson: Brian Thomas Logsdon.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM CDT Wednesday, September 6, 2006 and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM CDT Thursday, September 7, 2006. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 11:00 AM CDT Thursday, September 7, 2006 with Bro. James Jessie officiating. Interment will be at Logsdon Cemetery on Cub Run Highway in Munfordville, KY.
