Clavas A. Sexton, age 84, of Canmer, KY passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, at his residence in Canmer, KY. The Adair county native was born on February 7, 1922. He was a retired cabinet maker and farmer. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Upton, KY.
He was the son of the late William Jackson Sexton and the late Sallie (Roach) Sexton.
He is survived by his wife Patricia M. Sexton of Canmer, KY; one daughter: Colleen Ann Logsdon and her husband Darrell of Munfordville, KY; three sons: Dennis Sexton and his wife Nellie; Scott Gordon Sexton and his wife Sheila all of Canmer, KY; Odell Sexton and his wife Linda of Hoopeston, IL; two sisters: Gladys Claywell of Elizabethtown, KY and Nancy Vickery of Hodgenville, KY; two brothers: G. Zearil Sexton of Cleveland, TN and Lester Sexton of Sheridan, IL
Six grandchildren: Lisa Sexton Taylor, Craig Logsdon, Jeremy, Robert, Christopher and Richard Sexton. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: William Patrick Sexton and a grandson: Stevie Sexton; two sisters: Flara Mae Jessie and Flossie Claywell; three brothers: Henry, Winford, and Harlan Sexton.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM CDT Tuesday, April 11, 2006 and from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM CDT at Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. Funeral service will be at Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church at 1:00 PM CDT Wednesday, April 12, 2006 with Bro. Riley Sexton, Bro. L. H. Sexton, & Bro. James Jessie officiating. Interment will be at Bragg Cemetery in Adair County, KY.
