Claud Carroll

Claud Carroll, age 99, of Mammoth Cave, KY passed away at 5:38 AM ET Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on December 14, 1908. He was a retired track lineman with L & N Railroad and farmer. Mr. Carroll was a Mason with Cub Run Lodge #910 F & AM and a member of Nolin United Baptist Church where he served as deacon for over 50 years. He was the son of the late Willie E. Carroll and the late Vone (Brooks) Carroll. He was married to the late Janie Hester Carroll. He is survived by his Four Daughters: Connie Monnin of Sidney, OH; Jean Harned of Elizabethtown, KY; Agnes Brooks of Mammoth Cave, KY; & Catherine Avery of Cub Run, KY; Two Sons: Noel & Ricky Carroll both of Mammoth Cave, KY. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, one step-grandchild, twenty-three great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Lorine Carroll & nine brothers and sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM CT Friday, March 21, 2008. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:00 PM CT Friday, March 21, 2008. Visitation will be at Nolin United Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM CT Saturday, March 22, 2008 and from 9:00 AM to time of service on Sunday, March 23, 2008. Funeral service will be at the church at 1:00 PM CT Sunday, March 23, 2008 with Bro. Paul C. Hawkins, Bro. Shane Wilson, Bro. Dan Hogan, and Bro. Orel Priddy officiating. Interment will be in Nolin Cemetery in Mammoth Cave, KY.
