Christine Mills Page Greene, age 95, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at her residence in Cincinnati, OH.
She was born to the late Jimmie Henry Lewis Page and the late Grace Ethel Page in Horse Cave, Kentucky on January 4, 1927. She is the first sister born to six wonderful brothers, Ezra (Buddy), James Jr., Leon, Bobbie Joe, Charles and Ronald and six loving sisters, Betsy, Ethel, Lutisha, Mary , Marilyn and Carolyn.
Christine attended Sunday School at the First Baptist Church and became a member. After graduating from Horse Cave High School, she earned a B.S. degree from Kentucky State University. During her senior year in college she met her future husband. Her teaching career started in Middleboro, Kentucky and Chicago, Illinois. She married George H. Greene in Louisville, Kentucky in 1950. The Greenes moved to Tallahassee, Florida for employment at Florida A. and M. University in 1953 and returned north to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1955 where they continued their careers in public schools, She had additional studies at the University of Cincinnati and joined Bethel Baptist Church. She retired after teaching 30 years. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling, bowling, art, and playing golf.
In 1976, she became a founder and Lifetime member of the Les Birdies Women's Golf Club. In 1988 she designed the golf club logo and in 1990 obtained a patent from the Library of Congress in Washing, D.C. She also served as a volunteer on the Cincinnati Recruiting Golf advisory council for seventeen years. Social activities include renewing her membership with the local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha National Sorority where she was a Diamond member of the Sigma Omega Chapter.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM CT, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Horse Cave First Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM CT, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Horse Cave Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh Heater officiating. Burial will be at Horse Cave Cemetery Guthrie Street.
Due to the rise in COVID, the family requests that masks be worn at the church.
