Bro. David Paul Short

Bro. David Paul Short, age 80 of Munfordville, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 after a brief illness at his home. He was a life-long member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City, after being saved at home. He was a minister for over 55 years ordained in 1969. He was a wonderful devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is the son of the late C.H. Short and the late Mary Alda Humphrey Short. 

He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Huston and Raymon Short; his three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Ritter, Corene Ritter, and Joyce Brewer.

Bro. David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Sturgeon Short; two children, Dana Short (John) of Radcliff, KY and Dwain Short of Munfordville, KY; two grandchildren, Raphcedie and Bridgette Young; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-8:00 PM CT on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home and again on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM CT at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM CT on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and conducted by Bro. Trevor Thomas and Bro. Joe Wyatt. Burial to follow in New Hope Cemetery.
