Betty Jean (Hawkins) Spencer

Betty Jean (Hawkins) Spencer, age 72, of Horse Cave, KY died at 10:42 AM CT Monday, March 17, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The Hart County native was born on April 25, 1935. She was a homemaker and a member of Center Point Missionary Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Hawkins and the late Ollie Mae (Sanders) Hawkins. Her husband was the late J. O. "Bud" Spencer, Jr. She is survived by her Two Daughters: Carolyn Mires (Herbert) of Mammoth Cave, KY; & Pam Dennis (Michael) of Horse Cave, KY; Two Sons: Michael Nelson Spencer (Patricia) of Horse Cave, KY; David Spencer (Mary Lynn) of Shepherdsville, KY; One Sister: Marie Campbell (Bobby) of Louisville, KY; Two Brothers: Charles Hawkins (Bonnie) & Doug Hawkins (Sandy) all of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild & several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Betty Gail and Joanna Marie Spencer; & several brothers and sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM CT Tuesday, March 18, 2008; from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM CT Wednesday, March 19, 2008; and from 9:00 AM to service time on Thursday, March 20, 2008. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 1:00 PM CT Thursday, March 20, 2008 with Bro. Paul C. Hawkins officiating. Interment will be at Center Point Cemetery in Munfordville, KY.
