Bettie Lou Ward

Bettie Lou Ward, age 86, of Louisville, KY, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Masonic Home in Louisville, KY. She retired as a machine operator from Double Envelope. After retirement, she filled her time creating beautiful quilts, throws and table runners. She was a member of the Blue Lick Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late John Bryant and the late Therasa Mae Streible Bryant and the wife of the late Charles Edward "Pete" Fletcher and Bro. Clifford H. Ward. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ward; daughters Kathy Ward and Brenda Fletcher; brothers Demmer Bryant; Owen Bryant, Ronnie Bryant; sisters Dot Schenck, Hallie Thompson.

She is survived by one daughter, Theresa Haynes; two sisters, Evelyn Russell, Vine Grove, KY, Barbara Powell, Louisville, KY; five grandchildren, Jacob McGIll (Jennifer), Louisville, KY, Brenda Jean Haynes (William), Brandenburg, KY, Chuck Haynes (Amy), Brandenburg, KY, Jody Killman, Clarkson, KY, Allyson Ward, North Carolina; three great grandchildren, Ward McGill, Louisville, KY, Meg (Tristan) Haynes, Brandenburg, KY, Ella Haynes, Brandenburg, KY; several nieces and nephews, cousins and other extended family.

The family will receive friends 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM CT on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM CT Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Hawkins officiating. Interment will be at Jaggers Cemetery, Cub Run, KY.
