Bertha Louise Powell Hendren

Bertha Louise Powell Hendren, age 90 of Cub Run, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Richard Melvin Powell and the late Annie Mae McMichael Powell.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James William Hendren; her three brothers, Richard Melvin Powell Jr., Robert Lee Powell, and J.W. Powell; one sister, Viola Pauline Powell; and two grandsons-in-law, Neal Grillo and Paul Marksbury.

She is survived by her two sons, Jimmy Hendren and his wife, Cindy, Cub Run, KY,  Darrell Hendren and his wife Bonita, Upton, KY; three grandchildren, April Hendren, Heather Hendren, and Robin Miller (Ecil); three great-grandchildren, Layla, Landon, and Gideon; three sisters, Nancy O’Hearn (Eddie), Louisville, KY, Dorothy Byrd (Gene), Bardstown, KY, and Brenda Warren (Dan), Bardstown, KY; one sister-in-law, Francis Powell; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family also survive.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM CT on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home, and again on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM CT at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Brandon Fields officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upton, KY.
