Alvin Horton, age 79, of Munfordville, KY passed away at 7:12 AM EDT Sunday, September 24, 2006, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. The Hart County native was born on November 2, 1926 and was a US Army Veteran during World War II. He was a retired farmer and laborer for Peasley & Gaulbert Wholesalers and was a member of Lighthouse Full Gospel Church.
He was the son of the late Alvin Green Horton and the late Julietta (Guess) Horton. His wife was the late Clara (Meredith) Horton.
He is survived by One Daughter: Pamela (Horton) Robinson and her husband James of Westview, KY; Three Sons: Billy Horton and Joyce Avery of Kessinger, KY; Rev. Gary E. Horton and his wife Gina of Shelbyville, KY; James Horton and his wife Lydia of Lexington, KY; 12 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Clara Horton; a daughter: Becky Rowley; 8 brothers and 3 sisters.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM CDT Monday, September 25, 2006 and from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM CDT Tuesday, September 26, 2006 and from 9:00 AM CDT Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church until service time. Funeral service will be at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Horse Cave, KY at 1:00 PM CDT Wednesday, September 27, 2006 with Rev. Gary Horton and Rev. Bobby Neal officiating. Interment will be at Center Point Cemetery in Munfordville, KY.
